Descriptive Videos An Overview of the Watersheet. The device is simply a sheet of common plastic with overlapping tiled pockets that is draped over a house and charged with water. It holds a thick layer of water in place over the entire structure. It protects the house from catching on fire when wildfires sweep by. It has variations in form and function; all used to prevent the spread of fire. It is inexpensive to make. It provides great value.
This video is a summary of what the watersheet is and how it is used. We tried to light a straw covered doghouse that was protected by the Watersheet and failed to do it. We also did some tests to show that the Watersheet stayed in place in strong winds. We were very happy with the amount of protection a simple sheet of plastic might provide a house if caught in the path of a wildfire.
